Currently, francophone music is absent from the general categories of GRAMMY Awards, struggling to be heard in the face of an English-speaking predominance. These talented artists deserve a stage where they can shine with their own light.
New categories would be grouped in a specific slot titled ''Francophone Music'':
– Francophone Rap Album of the Year (A)
– Francophone Pop Album of the Year (A)
– Francophone Song of the Year (S/T)
(A) = The category allows album entries
(S) = The category allows singles entries
(T) = The category allows track entries (Any song from an album released in the last 12 months)
The objective is to provide a platform for Francophone artists to celebrate their creativity and highlight the diversity of talents that make up the French music scene.

French is a historical language in music, with icons like Céline Dion, Gilbert Bécaud, Ginette Reno, Edith Piaf, Charles Aznavour, the Cowboys Fringants or more recently, Maître Gims, Charlotte Cardin, Loud, Barnev, Imposs,Taktika, Souldia and more. A French-speaking music category would honour this heritage while celebrating the new generations of artists who bring this language to the international stage.
Francophone Music has influenced many genres and artists around the world. It is time to give her the place she deserves on the world stage.

Our history has more than
1 100 years
French is the 5th most spoken language in the world (with more than 320 million speakers) and is growing rapidly, particularly in Africa, where the music scene is exploding. To ignore this reality is to ignore a major part of contemporary musical culture.
Francophone music is experiencing a global expansion, driven by artists such as Jul, Stromae, Angèle, Aya Nakamura, Maes, Ninho, Himra, or either Damso. These artists dominate the international charts and collaborate with global stars, proving that French is an influential musical language.
Widely present in the media, cultural activities and literature, it plays a central role in the dissemination of knowledge and artistic expressions. The most populous French-speaking countries include France, the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Canada (Quebec), Belgium, Switzerland, and several African countries.
